CHAPTER EXHIBIT: Spring Bull Gallery

Our chapter exhibit for 2008, H2O will be held the month of November at the Spring Bull Gallery, Bellevue Avenue, Newport, RI. This is a well known cooperative artists gallery in the heart of Newport attracting local Newporters as well as tourists. The gallery is across the street from the Newport Art Museum and the famous Redwood Library. The theme for this exhibit is water. The artwork must be at least 75% colored pencil and must be a water theme .... but be creative .... any type of water incorporated into the artwork is acceptable. All art work will be accepted, the exhibit is only being juried for prizes!

The prospectus will be emailed soon! There will be a $10 per piece entry fee to offset our expenses for invitations, gallery mailings, opening reception and prizes. Additional money will be set aside for an 2009 award for the CPSA International Exhibition in our chapter name.

Kathy Clericuzio is going to be contacting all members regarding the possibility of having a silent auction in conjunction with our H2O gallery exhibit. We are looking for donations of small colored pencil pieces to be on display during the month of November. Money raised would go to our treasury and we can decide how we would like to utilize it, such as for a work- shop instructor etc. Please give Kathy your feedback and ideas!

Each member will be able to submit 2 pieces. We need 40+ pieces to fill the gallery. The gallery commission on sales is 25%.

The exhibit will run through the month of November with the opening reception on Saturday, November 1 from 5-7 in the evening. Newport Gallery Night is Tuesday, November 11 from 5-8 in the evening. For more information on the gallery go to www.springbullgallery.com.
